Vote casting for Meghalaya and Nagaland Assembly elections begins amid tight security
The vote casting for the Meghalaya and Nagaland Assembly elections began on Monday morning amidst heavy security measures, election officers said. In Nagaland, Round 13.16 lakh voters including 6,55,144 girls, vote casting in 2,291 polling stations, would converse the electoral destiny of 183 candidates including four girls nominees in Monday’s elections. In Meghalaya, Round 21.75 lakh electorates, including 10.92 lakh girls, are eligible to affirm their franchise in Monday’s elections. Votes to be polled in Nagaland on Monday might be counted on March 2 alongside with Meghalaya and Tripura.
