Assam Minister for Water Resources, Government of Assam, Pijush Hazarika met Union Minister of Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Recent Delhi on Friday and thanked him for releasing Rs.125 crores from the Flood Relief watch over Fund to the express for the most up-to-date fiscal.

Hazarika met Union Minister Shekhawat at his office to right his gratitude for releasing Rs.125 crores from the Central Government‘s Flood Relief watch over Fund for the most up-to-date monetary yr, which had been lying closed since 2016 due to diversified anomalies between 2011 and 2016.

Hazarika requested Shekhawat to open more funds below the procedure within the approaching days for taking on more projects to make Assam flood free.

Hazarika acknowledged the Central funds which had been discontinued since 2016 due to anomalies committed by the erstwhile authorities between 2011 and 2016 has been released by the Jal Shakti Ministry one and a half months ago due to the relentless efforts of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. “Due to the relentless efforts within the final one yr, the Central Government has released funds to the tune of Rs.125 crores to the Shriek Water Resources Division,” he added.

The Minister detailed the initiative of the Chief Minister is mulling a comprehensive venture to decrease water within the rivers during the monsoons by growing ponds nearby.
