Delhi’s energy regulator DERC has appointed Delhi Police’s ancient Special Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Bhardwaj as its ombudsman to glance grievances of the metropolis’s electrical energy patrons. A 1987-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, Bhardwaj had earlier held just a few prestigious posts within the central authorities and had retired as a special commissioner of Delhi Police.
He became once administered the oath of dwelling of job by the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman Justice (Retd) Shabihul Hasnain earlier this week, said a DERC commentary.
Four user grievances redressal discussion board, one every for patrons of discoms BSES Rajdhani Energy Ltd, BSES Yamuna Energy Ltd, Tata Energy Delhi Distribution Ltd and Original Delhi Municipal Council have been functioning since 2004. The patrons who are no longer contented with the decision of the CGRF can manner the DERC ombudsman, who acts as an appellate authority over the CGRF, the commentary said.
