Neglected flight costs Windies’ Hetmyer his reputation in T20 World Cup
West Indies‘ Shimron Hetmyer has been replaced by Shamarh Brooks in their squad for the T20 World Cup in Australia after he passed over his rescheduled flight, the crew acknowledged on Monday.
Hetmyer’s long-established flight was postponed at his request as a result of household reasons, which supposed he would comprise had to skip the valuable of two T20 warm-usaagainst Australia on Wednesday.
“It was made distinct to him that if there comprise been to any extent extra delays … we would have not any different but to alter him in the squad, as we’re not prepared to compromise the crew’s capability to space up for this … world match,” director Jimmy Adams acknowledged.
Brooks will fly out to Australia as soon as seemingly this week, Adams added.
West Indies play Australia on the Gold Hover on Wednesday and on the Gabba in Brisbane two days later. Their World Cup marketing campaign begins against Scotland in Hobart on Oct. 17.
