India-Nepal armies undertake Forty eight-hr gruelling coaching exercise: Military
The Indian Military acknowledged on Tuesday that troops of Idian Military and Nepali Military participated in a 48-hour prolonged gruelling coaching, adopted by successful validation of counter-terrorism drills on simulated settings, all the intention by the continuing joint exercise in Nepal.
The 16th version of Indo-Nepal joint militia exercise ‘SURYA KIRAN’, which started on December 16, will proceed till December 29 at Nepal Military Battle College, Saljhandi.
“Nepal Military soldiers of Shree Bhawani Baksh Battalion and Indian Military soldiers from the 5 GR shall be taking part within the exercise. The two armies, by these contingents, shall be sharing the experiences gained all the intention by the behavior of diverse counter-insurgency operations over the years in their respective worldwide locations,” Defence Ministry acknowledged in a Press issue.
“The joint exercise would point of curiosity on evolution of blended drills for planning and behavior of tactical operations at unit stage in counter terrorism operations and catastrophe response mechanism on the total and role of navy in administration of catastrophe,” it added.
One day of the exercise, participants shall be coaching collectively to construct inter-operability and fragment their expertise including Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorist operations and likewise on Humanitarian Relief operations.
“The joint militia exercise will give a fetch to the stage of defence cooperation which could additional foster the bilateral family members between the two countries,” the Defence Ministry acknowledged.
The exercise between the two Armies is phase of ‘Bharat Nepal Maitri’.
Exercise ‘SURYA KIRAN’ is performed every year between India and Nepal with the aim to give a fetch to interoperability in jungle battle & counter terrorism operations in mountainous terrain and Humanitarian Assistance and Catastrophe Relief operations.
